What I do

Fencing contractor covering Wingham village and the CT3 villages either side along the A257 - Ash to the east, Preston to the north, Wickhambreaux and Littlebourne to the west along the Little Stour, Staple to the south-west into the orchard belt. Eight services: closeboard, panel, picket, palisade, gates, decking, concrete-post and gravel-board retrofits, and repair work. All priced in £/m or as a fixed job price up front.

Why Wingham needs a Wingham fencer

Wingham High Street sits inside a Dover District Council Conservation Area. Front-boundary fence heights are limited to 1m on the vehicular frontage, and even where permitted development applies, timber choice matters on the CA stretch. A contractor from Canterbury or Ashford will not know the Dover DC Article 4 coverage without being told. I quote for LBC application timelines as part of the scope on listed frontages and work with the Dover DC conservation team as a routine part of the job.

Behind the village the land runs into the North Downs edge and the East Kent fruit belt. The exposed orchard-boundary runs on the Preston and Staple sides need tighter post spacing, heavier post gauge, and concrete gravel boards as a non-negotiable spec. Chalk substrate on the ridges past the village changes the install-day sequence - post-mix concrete has to arrive with the auger still in the hole. These are trade details that mean the difference between a fence that lasts 20 years and a fence that fails in eight.

How I work

• Photos and postcode for an instant quote. WhatsApp is fastest - photos of the boundary plus a rough panel or door count. Fixed £/m price back the same day in working hours.
• Fixed prices in £/m. Priced against a real spec at quote stage - post gauge, hole depth, timber grade, gravel-board type. Once quoted, that is the price. No day-rate creep.
• A proper job or you pay nothing. On completion I walk you round the run. Anything not right, I stay until it is - or you don't pay.
• 5% pensioner discount on every job. No forms, no vouchers - just tell me at quote stage.
• Ground-contact Use Class 4 timber on every install. Not Use Class 3 dressed up as "treated". The distinction matters for working life.
• Post-mix concrete, one full bag per hole. Not scoop-and-shovel. Not slurry.
• Photo record on completion. Useful for house-sale packs, insurance, and future reference.

What I don't do

• Sell you a fence you don't need. If a repair does the job, I quote the repair.
• Undercut the material spec to win the job. Cheap timber, saved concrete, and rushed post-holes are why a lot of Wingham fences failed in the 2022 storms.
• Push a longer run of decking or a bigger gate than the space actually needs.
• Skip Listed Building Consent on jobs that need it. The paperwork is your protection, not mine.
